Villagers
22 December 2019
Villagers
As they walk, their feet burn
Weary nights they live in this chasm
Waiting to voice out their opinion.
Their veins protrude
Their masters are mercilessly rude.
They long for freedom
With their life in dis-equilibrium.
Battling through changes
Working hard all day-long
With the world becoming more contagious,
They want to stand strong.
But this is killed with their oppression
By the well-to-do,
Leading them to manic depression,
And all the trauma which might ensue.
These are the warriors
They are saviors
Of history, tradition and cultures
They are the ones who preserve
And the ones who become victims of pillager
They are none but the villagers.
